Everton have completed the signing of midfielder Merlin Röhl from Bundesliga club SC Freiburg on a season-long loan with an obligation to buy in the summer of 2026.

An energetic and athletic Germany Under-21 international, 6ft 3in Röhl can play a number of central-midfield roles.

The 23-year-old becomes the Blues’ ninth addition of the summer transfer window after the permanent signings of Charly Alcaraz, Thierno Barry, Mark Travers, Adam Aznou, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Tom King and Tyler Dibling, along with loanee Jack Grealish.

  5. This guy is Grealish on the right wing. He has a great attitude. Great that he referenced the Milwaukee Bucks player Giannis as I’m from Liverpool but live in America and support the Milwaukee Bucks..along with my three so sons.

  6. 🎵 "Everton Days"
(To the tune of “Yesterday”)
    [Verse 1]
Everton days,
All our glory didn’t seem so far away,
Now we dream of bringing back those ways,
Oh, we believe in Everton days.
    [Verse 2]
Suddenly,
We were kings in blue for all the world to see,
Dixie Dean and legends proud and free,
Oh, how we long for what used to be.

  7. I'm excited with the new stadium, although Goodison is the Holy shrine. Great to have Moyes back and finish his legacy at Everton. The signings look great for goals. Hopefully the defense holds up with our fantastic keeper
