I DON’T LIKE THE JOAO MARIO – ALBERTO COSTA SWAP | WHY IS JUVENTUS NOT ACTIVE??

So many hot takes… People crying their eyes out over a couple of mediocre youngsters. Potential? What potential? Mbangula has the same potential Iling Jr had, another mediocre player whose only "quality" was age. Where is Iling now? Costa? Get your rose-tinted glasses off and you will see a mediocre, tactically inept tall guy. Joao Mario might be weak defensively, but have you seen his offensive stats? But the most important two things you, guys, overlook are:

1. As "weak" Joao Mario is, he debuted a couple of years ago and played 3 games for the Portuguese NT after being the undisputed starter for all Portuguese Youth NTs. Costa has 4 youth appearences.
2. This deal involves Porto, the same team we've had business with just a couple of days ago. Can't you see the big picture? Porto got a big capital gain on Conceicao, but that happened only because we overpayed for him (remember when people were moaning we couldn't negociate a better deal?). Well, this is payback – we recoup the same money Porto uses as capital gain without having them burdened. Elementary, really.

So, use your voices less and your brains more.

Personally to me it seems comoli has not done anything so far as everything that we have achieved so far was last years plan. Am so confused as in what they have been doing this entire window . What happened to money ball?

As a Non Juve fan, Juventus just got fleeced. Porto will sell Costa for 30M+ in a few seasons. Juve are very poorly ran.

How to fix Juve as a club should be main topic. Football is far from realistic anymore

Juventus is Juventus. Let's take players that aren't quality or go for targets we want; we become a middle club ala Roma or Lazio. Loan, loan, loan. Are Juve owned or trained by Zealand? Mercato is not good, just as expected. Once upon a time, Juventus was a club that could get players or did it well. These three years are as bad as Secco's times almost! Right now top 4 feel like main target as with this team we aren't better! As someone who like Porto and follow them for year Juve is dumb if they get João Mario

I see the sense in signing JM based on his attacking play and productivity around the opponents box. Juve are struggling to create chances and more creativity is required in certain areas of the pitch.

In terms of the transfer market it sounds as if we are only gonna sell to buy. The numbers are going to remain the same only the personnel will change. Brewer and Cabal will come bk, if Kelly moves, he gets replaced, same for D. Luiz, and N. Gonzalez. It looks as if we got another year with milik guys 😮

The future will be better, was the message… Guntoli, Motta must go… and now nothing has change and the decision of Mercato goes crazy, if we don’t create a new plan for the next season, we fight for the place four in the next season and than we have not chances to fight for the scudetto! Thinking of Juventus, I decided to watch this video again and share some thoughts.

On this day last season, we were flying high with new management (first real Giuntoli signings), new coach, everything seemed fresh post Allegri 2.0. We were pumped up and believed we can conquer the world.

Then look how the season went and ended. No Giuntoli, no Motta, and all the players we celebrated are considered flops.

This is making me calm down and step back to give Comolli and co. to do their job and then we can judge.

Personally, it has been very frustrating, but when I ask myself why, I don't have any real answers. Just feelings and random thoughts based on past experiences.

Joao Mario is more experienced than Carlos Alberto. Maybe the management is investing in ready players to handle different situations.

David is an established player too. Conceicao proved he's ready to step up. Signing Sancho could be another player of similar profile.

All 3 players have potential capital gains if they turned out to be good signings. There seems to be a pattern there which makes me think there's a strategy. It might not be clear, but a strategy sounds more promising than no strategy.

I'll wait and see to see how things develop before judging. In all cases, Tudor and the team have a lot of work to do. Maybe that's what Comolli is working on. No matter who we sign, we cannot sign 22 players and they still have to train and play.

I will stay on the neutral side for now waiting patiently to see what is really happening.

I just hope we sign a defender to allow Bremer and Cabal to recover and come back without pressure. Also, we cannot compete with a leaky defense that cannot contribute offensively.

However, we do not have all the time in the world. Preseason is around the corner and we need to start making things happen.

My dad in law is Sporting fan, he says this guy is pretty decent and not a bad player. But i think Porto acknowledge there is better sales potentiale in Costa because in 2 years time in Portugal he migth be sold for 30 to 35. Mario is here and now for us, but i liked the potential in costa, so for me bad deal. He can become stronger in defence Forza Juve Forza Beppe

Porto fan here. A lot of comments about João Mário are just unfair and wrong. He's far from being bad, he's just inconsistent and his lows can be really low but his highs are pretty good. Specially offensively is really gifted for a right back. He can play with both feet, good crosser, above average dribble, technically gifted for a fullback. Defensively I'll be honest, he's not good. But I believe with 25 and playing for an Italian team known for being tactically very disciplined he can still improve. He's far from being bad and for 12mil you got at least a very good bench option. He can be particularly good in a system with 3 CBs playing in a role of more of a wingback instead of right back. He was a winger until he was like 20 or 21. I participate in that forum that u took comments from and some commentating there just say gibberish unfortunately. João Mário got 3 caps for Portugal also, he's not a superstar, he'll never be but he's a good player with still room to improve. I wish him the best of luck in Turin because he's a nice dude, an introvert who succeeded in his childhood club. 17 out of his 25 in this home FC Porto but some idiots are still ungrateful to one of ours.
