Welcome to a special edition of Rio Presents, live on Transfer Deadline Day! I’m joined by Ste and Joel to break down all the latest transfer news and, of course, the big moments from the weekend’s football.

Manchester United: Outgoings and Onana
We kick things off by dissecting the latest transfer dealings at Manchester United. Are the club finally getting better at offloading players? We’ll analyse the moves for Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, Garnacho, Antony, and Rasmus Højlund. Plus, we’ll dive deep into the decision to sell Alejandro Garnacho and what this means for his future at Chelsea.

On the goalkeeping front, we discuss the potential signing of 23-year-old Senne Lammens and what it’s like for a young keeper to step into the pressure cooker at Old Trafford. I’ll share my experiences playing in front of legendary shot-stoppers like Edwin van der Sar and Fabien Barthez and what can be done to help a new keeper settle in.

Transfer Window Winners & Losers
We’ll run through a quick-fire round of our top picks for the best and worst transfer windows. Which club made the best value-for-money signings? And who had a window to forget, selling key players without adequate replacements? This leads us to a big discussion on the Liverpool vs Arsenal match and how their respective transfer strategies played out on the pitch.

We’ll finish with Joel’s take on Arsenal’s approach to big games under Mikel Arteta. Is his record against the ‘Big Six’ away from home a concern for Gunners fans?

Make sure you’re subscribed so you don’t miss any of the breaking news on this final day of the transfer window!

  1. A great signing but not as a number one…… yet.

An experienced goalkeeper and at least two midfielders had to be the priority this year and we didn’t get any……

The team has no solid foundation to attack.

  2. Hasn’t even started the game and we already hyping and pilling on crazy expectations on him then any small mistakes and difficulties you gonna throw the player under the bus this fanbase and media personalities are jokes sometimes

  3. I tell you what Man United cannot afford… to go into this season with a choice of Onana or Bayindir as first choice keeper… so I think taking the punt on Lammens is fine… Chelsea signed Cech at 21 and he was an instant success… actually Sir Alex wanted Cech as he was that next keeper in Europe that all the top teams were coveting, but he passed up the chance due to his young age… and he regretted it (obviously!) hence why he wasn’t afraid to then sign De Gea at 20… albeit De Gea struggled with the physicality and crosses compared to La Liga where he wasn’t exposed to that, he eventually became the best keeper in the league, arguably in the world at one point….

You can never judge someone on YouTube clips alone, but from what I see, he’s very fast around the box, shuts down angles quickly, good at penalties and most importantly he has soft wrists, something which Onana struggled with… everything that hit him went back into the danger zone or right through him, this kid seems like he has the knack of pushing things over and around the goal or to safety… I also read that he’s very vocal… and isn’t afraid to punch/catch crosses…. something which is crucial if he’s to survive in England… because there’s no doubt, teams will test him on that in his first season… 😮

  4. Rio were are not talking about experience here , what Manchester United have to do is to put more trust and believe in the young lad and make him the first choice goalkeeper

  5. It's essential we bring in Emi Martinez the world class keeper with great organise the defense skills this week & have Altay Bayindir has back up then we can seriously challenge for league this season!

Unfortunately We should have got both, Emi Martinez & Senne Lammens!

  6. When other goal keepers recommend him then we should listen.
It is such a different position, possible the only out field players who come close to understanding good keepers are the centre backs.
