  1. i dont get why people say Martial was poor this game…he wasn't and he had a decent game i thought…he had some good lay offs that lead to 2-3 chances this game and resulted in quick breaks….he is struggling physically and that's understandable given how long he was out but what is a realistic expectation here? his record since his injury return has been pretty good too…also his missed header was due to headbutt to his eye….

  2. Sadly casemiro has reminded us what an actual world class player looks like after wrongly calling and thinking all our good players were of a level

  3. The way we play we don't need a non-mobile, static Mitrovic type. Mitrovic is way too slow for us, he's ok in a Fulham team that play direct to him, but we play fast, lots of movement football. There's a reason no recent premier League champions have used a target man striker. We need a mobile link up player, like martial, but with more oomph and hunger.

  4. I agree with you Ste…. Casemiro is a facilitator just like big old Keano… different personas….but man oh man….have we missed a cerebral presence in midfield since Keane in that DM role….Matic and Ander Herrera were the only ones that came close… disregarding Carrick cause I think he was more an Eriksen than a Casemiro…and what a phenomenal player he was for us….

  5. ten hag switching between his 18/19 and recent ajax setups depending on the lvl of opp, kind of dont like the fact he isnt trying any new blueprint especially with a different utd team with less technical prowess in key strategic areas than he had in ajax, he is a man of habit and i can see this going against him in the future

bruno on the wing means we desperately need amad back for rotation there and at some point eth is gonna clock we need a key ball carrier in the midfield to ensure he can establish the structure to develop fresher tactics instead of repeating his old trusted patterns which wont see him any significant progress at the club

  6. With regards to donny it looked like a hyper extension of the knee and from past experience myself, its actually being able to kick a ball again is the slow part of the recovery process

  7. What I love about Casemiro is that he looks as though he is having an absolute ball when he is out on the pitch, playing with someone with that level of enthusiasm and joy must be brilliant for his team mates👍👍

  8. I thought it was the best I've ever seen from Fred. You almost expect Casamiro to be amazing but for me the performance of Fred off the bench last night was the best I think I've ever seen. Some really good defensive work which we expect but his work on the ball, his passing and his reading of the game was just brilliant for about 15 minutes.
At one stage last night he looked like he might get caught and he actually dummied the ball which completely turned the Bournemouth player over and he then immediately turned it into an attack from just in front of the United box. You watch him last night and say "OK, so that's why this guy walks into the Brazil side."

  9. De gea, shaw, rashford all 3 have had a poor few seasons but since Ten Hags arrival they've been like new signings even fred and wan bisaka look like totally different players

  10. City at old Trafford could be anybody's game, but arsenal away is a tough ask. Arsenal do look good at home not sure think we could loose both. We look decent at times but still not not quite there yet.

  11. I think if we avoid key injuries then top 4 is nailed on. We look good for it, take the first 2 games out as they were an anomaly and we've taken more points than city despite losing to them. If we say we'll finish above Newcastle which we will. That means 2 teams outside the top 4 would have to finish above us and Liverpool are the only team who could. Forget about Chelsea, Spurs or any newcomers.

  12. Carrick did more clever things on the pitch than Keane did.

Shaw has always been good. For whatever reasons he was poor last season, but 90% of the squad was as well last season.

Casemiro is the embodiment of world class. But he's been world class for about 8 years now so that's nothing new.

Marcus Thuram would be an upgrade on Martial. Not a big upgrade, but an upgrade nonetheless.

  13. It's going to be ligament damage in his knee. ACL both front and back look to be distended. I'm going to say he will be lucky to be back fit sometime during autumn. Could be a career-ender. My physio-friend that works with football injuries said he would be surprised if most of that knee is damaged, and he would believe this is a 6-8 month recovery, and most likely surgery needed.

  14. Have a look at the number of shots de gea has faced last season and compare them to this season and do the same with Liverpool and alisson I've said it multiple times de gea is the best keeper in the world but gets over looked due to the mistakes that cancel out the 6 or 7 world class saves per game he was making last season

  15. I truly feel for Donny, for me he reminds me a little of Forlan in the way that they put in effort and it just took an age for it to happen – the way his leg bent and with the weight behind the challenge (no real fault of their player, he slipped while going for the challenge) i was seriously surprised they let him stand up nevermind allow him to walk off the pitch! I hope recovers well and still gets a chance, i thought the last few appearances before last night he was starting to show us the real Donny and looked more confident.
Martial i think is still a little short of fitness, and also needs his team mates to find him with the ball…
I feel genuinely privileged to have watched Casemiro play at OT, what a talent he is and like Cavani when he was with us, i wish we'd got him 5 or 6 years ago, but we'll still get a few good seasons from him yet at least!
Although Utd still have a way to go yet, for the 1st time since Fergie i've found my optimism for Utd lasting longer than a couple of games!

  16. United need a number nine, we all agree on that. I don't think anybody thinks the G's want to spend more money, particularly if they are selling, I think they could get Antonio, from WHU, for a song. He could do till summer.

  17. I really well and truly thought it was over for shaw at the tail end of last season but once again, sign a new left back, and he comes to life. Honestly I think we need to line up a new left back, sign them, every summer, and shaw will be the Shawberto Carlos version forever
