  1. All it took was PSG getting rid of all that dead weight; Neymar, Messi and Mbappe. Imagine dumping all that salary and being better off to the point you win everything after?

  2. Porto fan here. When he was with us we saw his potential to be world class, the loan to Wolves was a terrible deal to get quick cash (for context, we are in a terrible financial state) and we were glad they didn't activate the €20M clause. When he left for PSG we felt like we were robbed, €45M for potentially the best midfielder in the world is a steal, and happily he confirmed his talents and won everything he could win this year

  3. You might be underselling Modric in his 20s. He was arguably in his prime then too. He was named in the Euro 2008 team of the tournament at age 22 even though Croatia were knocked out early. At age 22 he ran circles around the legendary England midfield of Scholes, Lampard and Gerrard, knocking England out of qualifying for the 2008 euros. 24 and 25 year old Modric pushing curs’d Tottenham to qualify for and then play in the champions league when they hadn’t before is also an impressive feat. It’s just that, back then, he played in the Balkans or at Tottenham (in their White Hart Lane days) so not a lot of people (including yours truly) saw his brilliance then. 🥹

  4. He is indeed the closest thing to Modric.

Just an observation, Modric didnt enter his prime in 2018, that was actually his last year on his prime. He was on that level since 2013. And even before that he was already considered the best EPL midfielder by some.

  5. Khvicha, Vitina and Luis Enrique have changed PSG they have done the best thing by dumping Mpappe because he was constraining the fluidity and pressing of PSG. Hope they perform at the same intensity at the next year Champions league.

  6. i compare him more to Xavi and Iniesta than to modric. he literally feels like if he spawned from the guardiola era barcelona.

  7. I basically never watch premier league, watch ligue1 and la liga so what you say is a question of perspective.. english people have no interest in other leagues in the first place

  8. Too true. When I saw him in the CL I thought who is this Messi like guy. Iniesta and Modric rolled into one. Maybe a little on the small side, but hey, Messi, Iniesta, Modric, not exactly giants,…of the game yes, not stature.

  9. @ 6:23 nah that image is savage especially combing it with what Neymar said complaining of the team being weakened by the arrival of new players such as Vitinha 🤣…yeah suck it

  10. Luis Enrique didn‘t made Vitinha better, it’s just that he plays posession based pass game wich benefits Vitinha and his role, Enrique is obsessed with players like Xavi and Iniesta.

  11. You left out something important: check Portugal's U-21 Euro in 2021. Vitinha was part of the team of the tournament. Portugal reached (but lost) the final against Germany, but that whole tournament was an amazing display of Portuguese midfielders – Vitinha, Vieira, Bragança and Pote in particular.

  12. You guys need to understand that he himself knock the door on his owm to become a regular Starter at porto. It wasn't easy, didnt had a lot of support at all, but when he played, like henry said, it was just quite simply another way of playing football. After becoming a regular starter, that happened around november/december, he Almost single handed made the team playing another type of game, and we went on to win everything that year. Hes just a different talent, unique, that thankfully is now collecting all the rewards of his talent. Hes never changed his ways, he worked hard, kicked his way into the elite football, and he is now the most exciting player in european football. I dont know if hes the best, but he is the most unique, and that is everything

  13. I haven't watched him in club games but noticed him in NT games. He wasn't as good as now but definitely improved a lot in the last 2 years he is definitely better than Bruno and Silva with his current form
