Hit LIKE if you think Mount did well against Arsenal
Mount is a player I appreciate. What he does facilitates those around him. He'll play the pass before the assist, which often goes unnoticed since there are no stats for that. If he can stay fit he'll feature most weeks, either starting or off the bench.
Please god don’t let this be another kiss of death lads 😂
Unfortunately Mason Mount will always be a signing to balance the books for homegrown players he was the best option and he will be here for some years but having English players is vital Pep bought a lot of English players like Sterling,John Stones, Kyle Walker , Kelvin Phillips, Grealish but over the years United have failed to maintain good English players like the class of 92 due to players going of the rails prematurely we’ve only got H5guire, Luk23haw , Mason Mount and Kobbie as potential starters
No. It’s been one game this season. Stop being giddy
Maybe Mount is the 6 we've been looking for? High level of intelligence for the positioning, hard worker, good engine, able to put in a decent tackle and is classy with the ball at his feet
As someone who spent 2 months in bed due to 2 slipped discs, I agree with Joe. It took me 3 years to walk the way I used to.
Hope he doesn't get injured
Too early to make an opinion about mount. Hopefully he stays fit throughout this season
Re Joe's point about the fee. The issue isn't Mount for me, it's that the club handed that over to a direct rival for a player who had been injured all season, was in the last year of his contract and wasn't going to renew. Chelsea were in such a weak position and we happily handed over money of that magnitude which enabled them to sign Palmer (Ugarte and Neves the season after was another weird one).
Spot on great analysis
Just wanted to say how much I appreciate Joe’s commentary. The most thoughtful of the lot on SP and appreciate that he doesn’t ‘generally’ dip down into the juvenile banter.
He's a secret water pistol all right.
I hope Mason Mount will do well for us but honestly, he hasn't done much since joining us.
i think mason and fernandes will be an amazing dou and will be why we are competing for number 1
Mount was great in pre-season. Not sure why you were surprised against Arsenal. He's clearly one of our best players but sadly, because of the signings, won't get the game time he deserves.
Quick answer, NO. Mount is neat and tidy, can get a goal here n there, but he is not top level at all. Could be a good squad option. Managers like him because hes a teachers pet and trains hard, that means nothing if you haven't got that high end quality
Mason mount pairing with Bruno at central mid might just be the spark
Yes backfired on Chelsea
His ship has sailed.
Given who we have bought in the summer it's hard to see him being anything other than a sub.
He can't play as a 6 or even an 8, either.
For mason mount and Shaw, i think they need to prove that they could stay out of injury for half a season, then we could talk about their impact. For now they only play in pre season and 1 EpL match, so there still long way to go and too early to talk about them, they need to prove to the fans that they are still worth player.
MOUNT HASN'T DONE ANYTHING FOR UNITED FOR US TO BE CLAMORING UP ABOUT HIM….
Clearly has quality and seems to be a great pro. Just unfortunate that his best position is probably our most fiercely contested. Thankfully he’s pretty flexible so will get minutes.
Mount is the engine for Amorim ball. Off-the ball runs make teammates better, presses, understands tactics
Mount will end up dreadful again overall this season
If so, we are doomed.
Mason Mount is top class a wonderful player
This could be a realy good season for him if he can stay fit
I think mount could do the same role as Bruno playing deep.
Joe is just so good! He complements everyone, Joe and Jay bang, Joe and Adam bang, Joe and Ste bang, Keep it up man ❤
This Guy always speak as if they know more that the coach
Milk monitor 🤣🤣
Mount is a litmus test, he identifies the buffoons.
If you think he's shit you don't know football.
I like Mason mount, providing he can stay fit for more than a month at a time, but he shouldn’t be in our starting team. The front three has to be Cunha – Sesko – Mbuemo. End of
We really need to stop solely thinking of Mount as a 10 in Amorim’s 3-4-3 system, he should be tried in the midfield 2. I think he’d be good in there! What’s the most important quality of the two midfield players in a 3-4-3 system?? It’s energy/legs. The two in there have to cover the ground and do the work for 3 midfielders because they’re coming up against 3 midfielders most weeks cos most teams play either a 4-2-3-1 with the 10 dropping back in to midfield and making a 3 or 4-3-3. Casemiro doesn’t have the energy/legs to play that role, Ugarte does but is very poor on the ball, Collyer does but isn’t good enough yet, Bruno has the legs and the quality and I have a feeling Mount does too! Would be a bit of a worry defensively playing Bruno and Mount in there together but we do have an extra centre half who is effectively there instead of a defensive midfielder so could work!
You said Mount is trustworthy off the pitch and he doesn’t post/say daft things but he did put that daft haircut photo out after we got pumped and he had a tiny cut on his head 🤦♂️🤦♂️
if United lose away to Fulham – who did just draw with Brighton away from home. They will have lost just under 10% of the points they got last season.
This fixture was won by ETH with Zirkzee scoring on his debut 3 minutes from time after being subbed on for Mount last year
Joe saying Mason Mount makes the players around him and the team play better when he’s starting… how did that work out in the Europa league final when we weee dreadful and he was anonymous??
Mason is a really good footballer and I mean at actually playing and understanding the game. He reads the game so well, finds the right pass 9 times out if 10, execution is always 9 out of 10 too, decision making brilliant, people think he's a road runner but he's just an intelligent footballer, constantly moving opposition around the pitch creating space for our players to run into I just wish players were on his wavelength, cunha and mbeumeo are, dorgus getting there too. Another thing he does well is know where he's going to put the ball before he touches it, alot of our players from before would panic and be reactive, he's pro active. He pulls others into the game and controls the pace at times. No coincidence those two pre season games in America dorgu looked brilliant, mason was in front of him. He is the legs of Casemiro always dropping in and helping the midfield when Bruno is being bruno and vacating space, mason is also is one of the few attackers we have who knows how to lift his head up and see his striker. He's also very technical and creative, we see bursts of it where he pulls out something special and everyone is shocked, he has this in his locker but doesnt risk take as much as others because he probably knows this team is vulnerable. In all phases he's a competent good footballer, heavily underrated and forgotten because of those injuries. I wish him the best
Mount was great for Lampard in the Championship and at Chelsea. Then he won the UCL with Tuchel. One of those players who almost always did the right thing. The right passes, a well timed runs, good shots, tactical discipline, relentless pressing. He's had a horrible time at United because of injuries. We have yet to see the real Mason Mount in a red shirt.
