PSG vs Tottenham 2-2 (4-3 Pens) | PSG Win First-Ever UEFA Super Cup in Dramatic Fashion!
Paris Saint-Germain secured their maiden UEFA Super Cup crown after edging Tottenham Hotspur 4-3 on penalties, following a thrilling 2-2 draw in Udine.
Tottenham looked in control for much of the game, breaking the deadlock in the 39th minute when Micky van de Ven fired home a rebound. Just after the interval, captain Cristian Romero powered in a header from a set-piece, doubling Spurs’ advantage and leaving PSG with plenty to do.
The French champions, however, staged a stunning late comeback. Lee Kang-in struck in the 85th minute with a clinical low finish, before Gonçalo Ramos leveled in stoppage time, nodding in Ousmane Dembélé’s cross to send the match to penalties.
The shootout provided more drama as Vitinha missed for PSG, but Tel and van de Ven failed to convert for Spurs. Goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier produced a crucial save, setting up Nuno Mendes to slot home the decisive kick. PSG, the reigning Champions League winners, lifted the Super Cup for the first time in history.
