  1. bravo hajj, finally a review that mentioning and highlights all about the players not only stats but the eye test, and finally including "the willingness to run" or what we used to called as grinta the willingness to fight and try.
and all the list u talked its all spot on.
i still hate this swap deal because it doesnt made us gaining much in financial side of thing, but probably can give tudor something to try and mix with the resource that is availabe for example in 2nd half he can put joao mario on the right and kostic the similar type on the left to try to out speed the opponent full back.
its a cheap bet and its not jadon sancho, and more likely to success as we dont have any expectation that he can do something miraculous

  2. Sounds like an accurate assessment.
He was never really a mainstay here at Porto and always felt very weak in defense, that would sometimes be disguised as Porto usually dominates most games which leaves him less defending to do but was always something holding him back, especially in big games. Lately Martim Fernandes was getting ahead and taking the spot from him, we thought he would do better last season as a wing back for a back 3 but the entire team fell apart (which wasn't only his fault). It pretty much feels as his cycle with Porto is done and he is now lagging behind in the pecking order so the move could be good for him. He is a good dribbler, carrier and crosser of the ball but lacks the reading, strength, intensity and aggression to be a solid defender. I don't know how Juventus plays but if you wanted an attacking wingback hopefully he will do good for you, you'll just need cover for him in defense as he is relatively easy to get passed especially if tested against quality wingers.

At Porto we're quite happy with the trade. Alberto looks like a more physical and intense player that should be more solid in a back four and provide tougher competition for Martim. He is also younger and with more room to improve. He feels like a better fit for us, especially now with Farioli making his new 433 system.

Hopefully João Mario will do well in your tactics and can perform for you.

  3. Joao is a wing back. He also played 2 seasons as Chicos right back. Alberto is a 1 trick pony. Head down and run to the byline. Smart signing for Juve. Those who know, know.

  4. I wanna remember you guys (almost) everybody was talking shit when we bought kalulu, look how great of a bargain it turned out… Hopefully Joao can be better than he already is in a new environment

  5. It depends how good he is going forward. As you said, Juve will concede a lot of goals, but that's something to be expected from a Tudor side… He did declare he prefers to win 5 4 instead of 1 0. But if he's good enough offensively to get those extra goals then he could be a good signing for this system. We all know how good someone like Theo was in the league, and he wasn't great defensively either (not saying Joao Mario is a new Theo, I've never seen him play 😅)

  6. As a Porto fan , Porto has been bad, every player was bad this season, if you go and watch previous seasons you will see a better João Mario. Yes he is weak defending but he was good at offence, not as bad as you seen defending, but not amazing too. He is fast tho and yes he plays well paired with conceiçao.

  7. The only thing about joao mario…. Is… Why juve need to give alberto costa… That is it….

I kinda wanna to compare joao mario just like cuadrado… Is he better or not?? If he is better than juve got a bargain….. Or is he better than asamoah?

  8. The thing that i dislike the most is the behavior of Juventinis that are criticising him without seeing him play for us, i think he will be perfect for Tudor system he will make the right flank more dangerous letting players in the left more free from players.

  9. U r right
He thrive from mid to final third. The issue we had our three man defense is not complete nor strong.
    Kalulu cannot play in three.
To compete in seeia A you need defence! Period
