At this point in his young career, Sean Johnson is probably best known for a bad bounce — he was in goal for the U.S.’s Under-23 squad against El Salvador when a long shot skipped past him in extra time, eliminating the team from Olympic qualification. It was a shame — not just for fans of U.S. soccer, but for the promising Chicago Fire goalie who may be the successor to national team stalwart Tim Howard.
In the newest Core of Sports video presented by the U.S. Marine Corps, Johnson discusses loyalty, making mistakes, and moving past them. His loyalty to his team and his profession are apparent: “When you put on your jersey,” he says, “you’re representing something bigger than yourself.”

Yep, thats why it's the most played sport on the planet… Honestly if you don't like it, why are you watching it?
The most exciting element of soccer is just how freaking hard it is to score goals… the pressure that creates for both teams in close games is incredible. Also, the level of global athletic talent in soccer is so deep, the players at its upper echelons are among the best of anything in the world.
He's 33. I give him 5 more years. Maximum.
Next time parry the ball out for a corner and not into your own net…we are not in the olympics beacause of you…mr. sean johnson

Sean had a bad day and he had a bad time to have a bad day. He probably beat himself up more than we'll ever know. But he learned and matured.
