The Premier League has a problem—and it’s not Pep or Haaland. It’s Bukayo Saka and Victor Gyökeres/Gyokeres. One is already cooking the league. The other might be the final weapon Arsenal need to take everything. In this deep dive we break down why Saka’s elite consistency + Gyökeres’ ball-carrying, pressing and runs in behind could unlock a scarier, more balanced Arsenal—and why that terrifies the rest of the EPL.

We cover:

Why Arsenal didn’t “bottle” last season and how their defensive structure (Saliba–Gabriel–Rice) kept them alive

The Saka conundrum: over-reliance, double teams, and how to spread threat across both wings

The left-side fix (profiles like Eberechi Eze) to mirror Saka’s output

Why Gyökeres fits Arteta’s system: link-up, channel runs, up–back–through patterns, killing low blocks & counters

Small tweaks Arteta needs (more direct outlets, smarter rotation) to turn control into total domination

  1. M arsenal fan but m sick n tired of this big talks of new transfer. We dnt fckng need this stats n analysis. We want results n cup. So fckng shut up n win us cup first

  2. This is a brilliant breakdown of how a striker like Gyökeres could be the missing piece for Arsenal. He would not only bring goals but also create space and support for Saka, making the attack much less predictable. Do you think this duo could be the key to winning the Premier League?

  3. Those calling Arsenal bottlers are just envy. Envy of progress Arsenal doing for the past 5 years. Arteta are building a team that just win 1-2 cup but after that disappear into abyss. he is building a team that will sustain for years to come.

Yanited are bottlers, against Spurs. City are bottlers, against Crystal Palace.
Liverpool are bottlers, won the league but humiliated in Carabao final, lost embarrassingly against PSG.
Chelsea spent more than 1 bills but only managed to finished top 8 and a micky conference, ok they are good now, as they should after spending that much.

Arsenal will win something, its not if, but when.

  4. As an Arsenal fan I think this is exaggerated. Gyokeres is a good player yes but he will take a while to get used to the physicality of the premier league. Plus he’s not even fit. As for Saka, it’s always up and down. The man becomes exhausted halfway through the league. He is inconsistent. Sometimes he doesn’t show up in the big games. Nevertheless we love him ahahaha

  5. From a cov fan, one thing people don’t always realise about Gyokeres (mainly because he’s a striker), is that he’s also brilliant at making assists. In fact he’s genuinely one of the best play makers out there. Him and Saka are going to create a hell of a lot of chances between them, which i can only assume is going to be huge for arsenal. I actually can’t wait to see how he performs in the prem
