    Get to know your newest ‘Caps signing in one of the sport’s most decorated players of all-time in legendary German attacking midfielder Thomas Müller, presented by TELUS.

    Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced on Wednesday the addition of one of the sport’s most decorated players of all-time in legendary German attacking midfielder Thomas Müller. The FC Bayern Munich great has signed for the remainder of the 2025 season and the agreement includes a Designated Player option for 2026. Müller, who will occupy an International Roster Slot and fill one of the spots opened due to the Season-Ending Injury List, will officially join the club’s roster pending receipt of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC), visa, and work permit.

      As a Bayern fan and a German, I'm very happy he's going to Canada and not the US. I know politics and football are two different things, but I'm really glad he's in Canada and not in Trumpland. Also, I haven't followed the MLS before, but that will change now. I'll try to watch every Whitecaps game. You're getting an absolute legend and will have a lot of fun with our Thomas. 🤘😎

      I'm so happy a legend of Thomas's caliber chose a club like Vancouver instead of LA or Miami. This is massive for small market teams. It feels like a shock at first, but now having listened to Axel and Jesper speak, it's easy to see why a player like Thomas would choose them. Humble, intelligent, hard-working straight shooters, just like him. This proves that the right people can take you ANYWHERE.

      I grew up watching Müller and have been a lifelong Bayern fan because I was born there. Was legit sad when i no longer saw his name on the roster. But that's life. We grow, move on, and evolve. I hope he makes a name for himself in Canada now.

      For Germans, Canada was once a beautiful, big country. The fact that it stood up against Trump made it even more beautiful in our eyes. And now Müller is playing there, too. Canada, a place to visit.

      You will not get a play who will give you crazy dribbles, you will not get a player who outruns the defenders. But you will get someone who gets the job done. Who might even leave his legacy with his experience and im convinced many players, not only the young ones will benefit from his presence
