Rodrigo De Paul Joins Inter Miami! 🔥 Reunites with Messi & Co in Stunning €15M Move
Rodrigo De Paul has officially joined Inter Miami on loan from Atlético Madrid, marking one of the most high-profile MLS signings of 2025. The 2022 World Cup-winning midfielder will reunite with Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba, forming a star-studded Argentine core in Miami.
The deal, reportedly valued at €15 million, runs through the end of the 2025 MLS season, with an option to buy that could keep De Paul in South Florida until 2029. Due to MLS roster rules, De Paul joins via Targeted Allocation Money (TAM) rather than as a Designated Player (DP). To make room, Inter Miami acquired $135K in General Allocation Money (GAM) from Portland.
De Paul made 180+ appearances for Atlético Madrid, tallying 14 goals and 24 assists, and his exit was reportedly opposed by coach Diego Simeone. Negotiations were led personally by co-owner Jorge Mas.
De Paul is expected to debut on July 30 in the Leagues Cup opener, playing under Javier Mascherano.
