Jao Felix is a CAM at best, A Bruno replacement if anything. We need someone like gakpo who can come in and compete with martial because he showed he can play that role in the World Cup.

The problem is that he is going to be really expensive even if apparently unwanted by Simeone, such that United will probably go for him in the summer where the competition for a top-class player is going to be fierce. United don't necessarily have a good track record of beating clubs to major signings anymore.

Something's gotta give to have both Felix and Gakpo, I know based on the circumstances it might be unrealistic to acquire them both but I think Martial and Van de Beek have already had enough time to prove their worth. If Martial doesn't perform well when the season resumes then I'm afraid he's gotta go!!
He is quality and would be a cool addition to the squad, but the transfer don't make sense, considering how badly we need a Striker who can really play down the middle ( I am a bit concerned if Gakpo and Thuram can) it doesn't make much sense, especially in Jan. though maybe a loan? But I trust ETH, so wait and see what he has planned.
@Atlantisfootball A bit of a left field view here: the man looks like he could play many roles on a football field – which sometimes is not such a good thing if he comes under different coaches who deploy him all over the field throughout his career.
When I look at Joao Felix, I see a supreme ball carrier, talented creator and remarkable scorer of goals. I see what he does and see what Jude Bellingham does and I'm thinking – could you play him in Bellingham's role and get similar or even better results?

He has the amibiguities of the likes of Dybala, Griezmann, Totti and Firmino but the Berbatov comparison is perfect esp because of their aesthetic styles i.e their gracefulness. I'd liken him to Kaka as well, not only in terms of looks but, if he had Kaka's tenacity and aggression when carrying the ball, their styles would almost match.
The problem would be who plays behind him if he's the central forward. Donny would be ideal but he's not at it atm and Bruno doesn't really make runs in behind esp when the striker vacates that position- he'd rather occupy the same space.
Buy him or if you loan him, his value will go to 100 mil again which is what Atleti want probably but think Arsenal have a better chance because Jesus is crocked

Man Utd need an out and out striker, a proper number 9. João Felix is very much a 10, a support striker. So no I don't think they should imo. Plus not only that, I don't even think he would be suited to the PL.

He isn't scoring every other game… he has scored 33 goals in 129 games for Atletico Madrid that's closer to 1 in 4… for a €100 million plus forward that's awful… I wouldn't even have him on loan… Just give the youngest a chance instead…
