When was the last time a footballer died in his absolute prime at the highest level? I think the player was Duncan Edwards in the 1958 Munich air disaster. Maybe Gaetano Scirea’s death in 1989 can be considered a greater tragedy since he was truly up there as the best defender ever to exist alongside Baresi.
If not players like Reyes, Tiote, Vivien Foe, Miklos Feher, sala, Astori, may they all rest in peace passed on not at their prime.
Either or, it is truly tragic to think of these poor guys passing on while entertaining us for most part of their earthly lives.
In our hearts they will forever be remembered and cherished until the memory fades with each generation passing on
