To be clear: Nico just wanted an exit clause if they weren't able to register him to play by August this season. Barca have had this issue before, and the kid could potentially lose 6 months of playing time without that guarantee. It also shows that Barca aren't confident they can register him in time. They allowed it for Dani Almo last season, but it required him getting a court ruling to be registered in time. 100% it was Barca's deal to make and they refused.
