Cody Gakpo was excellent playing as a winger for the Netherlands at Euro 2024, so why doesn’t he play there for Liverpool?

  1. Be more specific. The PL is another level of PHYSICALITY. This arrogance of thinking the English game is the best ever is what translates to the "coming home" delusion at every major international tournament. Look at what clubs half the squad came from in the recent Euros.

  2. In other words, the prem has become an athletics championship with a ball.

And Klopp is a pace merchant.

But all jokes aside: prem wingers dont have to be super fast.

Mahrez wasnt much quicker than Gakpo, nor is Bernardo Silva. Or Foden for that matter.

But yeah that's Guardiola, a much better manager attack-wise than Klopp.

  3. But you don’t need explosiveness to be an elite dribbler… David Silva, Giggs, Zidane, Bergkamp, Bernardo Silva, Mahrez, Riquelme, Mata, Thiago, Ozil, Ziyech, Odegaard, James, Isigne, etc.

  4. Plays well on the left best position is the left mediocre striker but prem is different level so we continue playing him at striker sound logical 🤦

  5. Why buy a player when you know he isn’t going to play his best position? Maybe this is why premier league teams not called man united are moving so slow right now. Yoro is an immediate starter for Man U whereas for Liverpool he’d have to work his way there.

  6. The end of last season told me Gakpo will be just fine on the left wing, he was a lot better than Luiz Diaz at the end, if Salah and Nunez didn't miss just about every chance they got he would've had a solid 4 extra assists in the last 5 games of the season

  7. The prem is not on another level than the EUROS, my friend 💀💀 Gakpo belongs on the wing, when Klopp played him there he scored goals and got assists, when he didn’t, Gakpo failed.

  8. he is not fast enough to be a prem winger esp when we have lucho and jota also who can play there and have been more effective.

  9. Plays well at LW for PSV
Plays well at LW for Netherlands
Plays his best football at Liverpool from the LW

  10. It's not rocket science, if he can score 3 goals in the left wing position in the Euros. While many players struggled to just score 1. Ofcourse he's a left winger

  11. BS. Gakpo is the best LW LFC has. Or would you rather go back to the same mistakes Klopp was doing with Gakpo by placing him anywhere but on left?

  12. I like Gakpo's associative play in the middle.
Chiesa – Gakpo – Salah would recreate the Mane – Firmino – Salah dynamic.

The problem is….Gakpo hates playing CF.
