A tip for those leaping to conclusions – maybe watch the video first before leaping to nonsense conclusions based on a title and calling me bias. Might be a sensible idea… 🙂
I honestly believe that the focus that Guardiola has now placed on the defence has also help John Stones a lot. I for one am glad he has found form it makes our backline much more competitive. So if you're not playing well just enjoy the bench for a while
How do you feel about playing 3 cbs? Stones rightside, Dias in the middle, and Laporte left. Would look pretty solid, but perhaps to defensive overall?
Current CB pecking order:
1. Dias
2. Laporte
3. Stones
4. Ake
5. Garcia
tbh I'm not in favour of 2 right footed defenders starting and 2 left footed defenders on the bench it distrupts the dynamism and balance of the game
there will be little or no diagonal long crosses to our RW
so its better we get back to dias and Laporte or stones and Ake they are both excellent pairings
Guardiola philosophy destroyed all City players .
i would feel alot more comfortable with laporte plating because hes more reliable but so far this season john stones has been better
Yah Stones at the moment is doing better than Laporte. I know in future games guardiola might try to degrade John and pan him out as still rediscovering his form but right now he is in the zone. Well done Stones!!!

I think sterling needs to sit for a few games minimum mans has been in poor form in almost every match
How can we say anything negative about la Porte?… he's been a rock since he arrived…him and Dias are our defence future
All this talk about stones over Laporte or dias over ake is all nonsense. We should all be encouraged that for once in awhile we have players fit and playing well in their positions.
This is what i like about PEP no one is invincible! Sterling too needs to be benched the very next time he missed em easy seater's…😡, We're just 6point behind!

Is Stones ahead of Laporte? Only if Laporte is injured, and quite frankly, I still don't think he has fully recovered from the hit he took last season.
Too many people think the second you are back on the pitch after a long injury, you will be as good as you were before. It just doesn't work that way.
He needs to share duties with Stones and Ake, until he is completely back to where he was.
On the day both players are excellent and we are very very lucky to have all those options come on city great video

Love the fact Stones is playing himself back into form and into the team! And all of a sudden city’s defence has become really strong with Dias, Laporte, Stones and Ake to come back
When there were talks about Stones potentially leaving I was afraid that he could leave and hit top form and confidence shooting through the roof. Seeing him now gaining confidence and form is really pleasing and helps us a great deal. Laporte is top and when he hits top form again it’ll be a nice problem to have for Pep and us of ofcoz.

Stones very good at the moment but once again it's Stones, the once promised great world class defender ( we're still waiting to see that since he signed). Laporte is miles ahead of him
Who would you prefer at RB if we get Angelino back? Cancelo or Walker?
Btw who thinks Angelino should come back to city? I mean he fits in Pep's style of play and is much better than Mendy or Zincheko also he is young (23 years old and has improved a lot at RB Lepzig!!!)

I feel sorry for him, pep has humilated him recently. Garcia should never play over stones. He has no pace, no height, no strength, never wins headers. Glad pep has given him a chance again. Hopefully he can keep his focus and fitness. Always been better than garcia
Pep picks and chooses who his favourites are. Rodri always plays. When Jesus or Fodens in form. He drops them. Going by peps words foden should start most games. Well see the weekend
Laporte and sterling are probably facing the same problem sane did that I think pep is gonna be a lot harder this season it’s makes their performances better but if they out of form and someone having a better game than they have to work even harder to get back in into the team

Stones is by far our best CB bringing the ball forward & passing forward. Less slow stuff between the CBs..which only adds to possession stats & does nothing creative.
I don't know if i am the only one but stones is looking like a totally different player. Aggressive focused strong just totally a different player.
Laporte is a beast and has given everything for us he is still my guy

He was probably just nursing a knock or strain but stones back on form is great for city
Both are very good..Diaz can help City in the midfield as breaker with Rodri and Kevin.
