FC Bayern München Fan since 1987. So….ive seen players like Brian Laudrup, Mehmet Scholl, Sebastian Deisler and many others….this is my opinion concerning Leroy Sane= He is incredibly fast, technical and obviously the team liked him a lot. His stats aren't really bad….but the video sums up the problems with Leroy. Its just not enough to speed run thru the opponents defense and then just shot without a plan. He misses so many chances it literally incredible. Especially under pressure he folds….you aggressively man mark him and he easily stops playing. It is almost like the ghost of Mesut Özil took hold of him…. incredibly talented….but he is 29 Years old. He was nit once the Bundesliga player of the season. He was never under the best three goal scoreres or one of the three best concering assists.
I couldn't name one highly important goal he scored. And after 4 years a Michael Olise comes amd does everything we wanted from Leroy Sane….scores, assists, works even defensively and all that in his first year AND as foreign player….
He could have been EVERYTHING. He reminds me of Mario Basler….also a winger who had the talent to dominate ANY defense line on this planet….but the sane issues….non chalant and lazy defending, lacks drive when under pressure, doesn't seem to work on weaknesses.
FC Bayern München treated him great. Every Coach counted on him. Even after numerous pathetic matches….he would play. When the Sadio Mane story occurred….we took his side.
Him changing his manager was a big F… you after all these years. He definitely won't be remembered like a Ribery, Robben, Scholl or Matthäus.
I wish him the best, but it's definitely clear that he just wanted to cash out one more time….his speed is his main strength….hes 29 Years old. Soon he will have to deal with age sucking away his ability to constantly run down younger opponents….and he is definitely not a player that can evolve into a central attacking midfielder or even a deep playmaker or Striker.
His one dimensional style of running down the wing and then trying to move to the central area is just not enough…. especially when you aren't as effective as a Arjen Robben…
A sad story….he could have been one of the best players on this planet. Now, he is in Istanbul with only 29 years….
