Karim Adeyemi, the elusive Borussia Dortmund striker, has left his mark on the Champions League after his exceptional performance against Chelsea.

His stunning 63rd-minute strike proved to be the match-winner in the first leg of the last-16 tie.

Adeyemi’s fantastic goal was the result of a lightning counter-attack.

After a Chelsea corner, he received a pinpoint pass from Raphael Guerreiro, and he tore past Enzo Fernandez before deftly rounding Kepa Arrizabalaga and slotting the ball into the net.

Dortmund captain Jude Bellingham, who also had an outstanding game, hailed the 21-year-old, saying, “not many players can stop him” when he is in form.

Dortmund was in control in the first half, but Chelsea put up a valiant fight in the second half.

However, the Dortmund defense held firm and secured their first-ever win against an English side in Europe.

Adeyemi credited the team’s closeness and fighting spirit for the victory, saying, “everyone was fighting for each other.”

With seven straight wins in 2023, Dortmund is showing that they mean business in the Champions League.
