  1. I’m sure he came back overweight for a pre season in the Leeds doc. Surprising for someone who’s cardio and stamina is a big part of his game.

  2. Impressive video! It’s fair for pep to call out anyone even Haaland if they’re behaving like someone that doesn’t bother to fight for the club. It wasn’t a complete slander on Kalvin at all as well, it’s just a factual statement that being blown out of proportion by English media protecting their national player.

  3. If it motivates him to put his head down and get to work then its another Pep masterclass. If it works then he should try the same thing with Jack. He already does it with Kev saying he wants him to be angry and play with fire.

  4. 🤯That means England WC camp was a partyšŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļøFUCK SouthgatešŸ–•šŸ–•šŸ–•I played the game.😤I played the game.šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’ØI played the game. šŸ˜’

  5. Might be more of a sly comment to the England staff.

Players’ diet, especially when they are at camps like this, are controlled by nutritionists for the most part, offered slight variation in option of dishes but nutritionally all worked out the same, specifically the individual.

Work out routines are also decided by staff.

Maybe he’s annoyed that the England staff took his player and didn’t look after him properly.

  6. Give the guy a chance. Put yourself in Kalvin's shoes, he's had a significant injury and went to the World Cup partially fit, working for a crap manager and coaches. He's also got to compete with Rodri to get in the City side and he'll know for sure what he needs to do to get back up to speed. Sometimes a manager has to give a player a push, whether it's an arm round them or a bit of criticism, Pep will know how best to deal with the player and all Leeds fans will tell you how highly they rate Phillips. They were gutted and angry by the £45m transfer fee (not £50m as stated) Kalvin will play another 20 games this season for City with games coming thick and fast from now on. I'm sure by the summertime all this will be forgotten. Let's support Kalvin and give him a chance with a run in the team, in ten days or so he'll be fully fit.

  7. Cmon Buvey… stop getting sucked into the English Media hype. Phillips wouldn’t get into any of the top 6 prem sides let alone being one of the best CMs in the league. He’s a decent holding midfielder.

  8. People are bloody stupid, I don’t know how people don’t understand this about phillips. MARCELO BIELSA managed to get him to play at an exceptionally high standard, Bielsa is well known for making players better than they otherwise were. This worked with Kalvin more than any other player Bielsa ever managed. There’s no way he was ever going to be the same player under any other manager.
Even at leeds he went downhill after Bielsa had gone and when marsch took over. He was on a downhill spiral before city even bought him.
Bielsa made him what he was. Simple as.

  9. Yes pep has standards and you see the results of such standards, it’s not an insult it’s a requirement to play for pep Kalvin is class he’ll understand

  10. As a Leeds fan I can openly say that our transfer policy in recent years has been bad ..However this piece of business was a master stroke by us .. we got Adams for a fraction of that price . I wouldn't take back Philips for any more than 7 million ..
He had a good spell under Bielsa but outside of that he's not been great ..
He was at Leeds long before Bielsa came and I was never that impressed ..

  11. It is fair , Phillips has done F all so far in a city shirt , has hardly played and hardly played for England but is overweight? I have been backing the lad because of his injuries but if he is overweight and can’t train the the lad is taking the p*ss , What a Waste of money

  12. Kalvin is being a problem for sure, but i think he still can compensate his transfer is he become fit and healthy. Just giving rest to Rodri is enough to worth his buy.
However, Jack Grealish is absolutely the worst transfer in english football. 100M on a player who comes in to play 1v1 against a tired Joe Gomez and he stumbles on the ball. Grealish made a couple of good games with City but in overall his performances are awful, and even if he becomes better frequently he will never get even CLOSE to his transfer value. Today, tecnically speaking he should be the 3rd option to left wing, Foden and Alvarez before him.

  13. Kalvin has to get used to city maybe they weren’t as vigilant at Leeds. By all means, he probably not really overweight compared to like us the general population or even the rest of the league

  14. I was weary of Phillips when Man City signed him… And my trepidation has turned out to be validated! He's not a fully committed player. And that will never work with Pep as manager!

  15. What makes pep so good is his honesty.
    He's said that to Aguero
    He's said it to toure

He knows what he wants from his team and isn't afraid to point it out. Kalvin should get his head in the game or leave the club

  16. As an athlete , your body is your work tool. That’s it….you have nothing else. People down the gym who aren’t being paid keep leaner year round. There’s no excuse for the money they’re paid

  17. Kalvins girlfriend dropped him in it posting photos of their New York trip on Instagram, however Pep should of had that conversation in private. I’m a Leeds fan and adore Kalvin, but it looks to us like you were never going to play him. He is not overweight, is extremely fit, can outrun anyone, but he has no minutes to get match fit.

So trained non stop with England during the World Cup, but not fit enough to play for his club?
All Pep has done has shut on his own player and left him being trolled across Social Media. Not acceptable. Pep has form for ruining players Mental Health, but knowing Kalvin, he will come back and prove all his critics and manager wrong.

  18. Sometimes in life people have to say some true things that aren't easy to hear and you have to just accept it. In the pro life some things are more open especially if you're not able to play and getting payed a lot. He will be back once he's fit just stay loyal to him and it'll pay off
