Playing João Neves as right back is a waste. Why did he put a guy that is a midfielder and as a great connection with Vitinha as right back? Makes no sense. For example when you explained how the second Spanish goal comes from Vitinha doing a run forward, Portugal loses the ball and then the rear is completely exposed – this is why you play João Neves as a defensive midfielder. He's there so Vitinha feels safe behind. They support each other while defending, but when attacking, Vitinha can be creative and run forward because he has João Neves behind to cover if he loses the ball.
There's a reason PSG won so much this season and it's very stupid not using this same configuration in the Portugal national team.
