I don't think that his tools are not good for defense.. Actually, he is really bad defender.
Even he is CENTERBACK, no hight, no speed, not good at physical something. Even I'm not the big fan of Pique, "Replacement of Pique" is ridiculous. Pique also has slow foot. Eventhough, he has hight and physical. Puyol was small for centerback, but he had good physical ability, good defensive skills, and really fast. Because Puyol was from right-wingback defender.
