It's not an insane comback. Maguire had one poor season. Every other season at United was good. He has never been world class but everyone new that he was better suited in a back three.
He was always a decent defender, he just got blown out of proportion. He just wasnt good enough over the shoulder in the high press for the very top level. He was blown out of proportion because he was English.
The question is, "WHY is Maquire back?" If this is a result of Amorim's thought process – I am even more concerned about the future of ManU under Ruben. I really do not agree with Goldbridge much…but I do agree with him about Maquire. Harry Maquire has been instrumental in the team losing in every game he has played. He is not a good leader, he constantly blames other for his own screw ups, he lacks awareness on the field, he is to slow to recover, and his ego keeps getting in the way of the team finding success. He is not a strong enough player to be the center back for ManU under this broken system that Amorim plays. Don't agree with me…watch Maquire's performance in the last 5 games (especially against Rangers).
