The only thing England will win with Southgate is the virtue signalling award to pay homage to a dead career criminal
End of the world is getting nearer
Says Stevie Nicol who failed at Mexico 86, missed a sitter
Let em suffer..the rest of the world enjoys it…
England seems fine w mediocre performances. They lack that cutting edge. Losing in the quarters with that squad is a failure.
Sad sad day for England ngl what an L
One last ride for Southgate, win or nothing I agree
I completely agree with Steve. Leave the "5th game" mentality for teams like Mexico… Not England!!!
Harry Maguire calls Gareth Southgate daddy and he calls Harry delicious, so I've heard.
southgate avnt got the killer instinct
If England had Mourinho as Manager – England would win both the Euros and WC
Subbing Saka and Foden killed England, yeah England and Mount won a penalty that could’ve changed the game but that was because of a bad mistake on Hernandez part, not anything Mount did, Southgate always make bad subs and decisions, I mean Sterling really? He hasn’t scored for Chelsea in months what was he going to do?
I hope he does remain. The men follow him and Harry Kane is a good captain.
When you look at the record of little Croatia, it brings home just how inept England have been over the years since 1966. The FA know sweet FA about how to win a competition it's just a club for the boys who don't say no. Another golden generation on their way to mediocrity. Southgate should go but he will stay.
A legitimate organisation that is trying to help construction workers in Qatar is… Equidem
………………. ………………. …….. …..
Football fans should try and help the mistreated workers who built the stadiums and hotels.
As an Irishman who has always supported England in the tournments England need to get real and stop accepting glorious defeat. That's for countries like Ireland and Morocco, no other big Country does that. It is usually fine margins, when are these pundits going to figure that out? It is for most teams. It was fine margins for England in basically every previous tournment and it was fine margins for Brazil, Portugal, Spain, Germany, Netherlands and Belgium. That's how these things work, all of those countries are devasted and see it as a failure. The belgian, Brazilan, Dutch and Spanish coach have all resigned or been pushed. You wait 2 years for important games and then are judged on a few games, that is international management and you either win the whole thing as a powerful football nation or you don't. England have accepted bad coaches and celebrated medicreity for too long. France controlled that game until they went ahead then gave up control just like they did agaisnt Morocco. England created no clear cut chances despite the good play. I can't beleve people are seeing this as a sucess, no other big nation are, England accepts being second best, that's why they never win anaything. Brazil are treating this like they have been shot and England are patting themselves on the back, spot the difference. The English media are like teenage girls personalising it too much. 'Southgate is a good Man blah blah blah'. It was the same with Ole at Man utd, we aren't wanting him to look after our dogs for the weekend, how is he as a coach? No one thinks he is an elite coach, go get one.
He's been in charge now for what 3 tournaments. And they played out exactly a like. England beats the teams they're expected to beat and they lose to the big teams every time.
If you don't risk it, if you don't take any chances you have no chance of winning. I can tell you right now how things are gonna go in the next tournament, but i don't have to cause you all already know.
I'm actually tired of worrying about stocks…..it's driving me nuts these days,I think crypto investment is far better than stock
Kneeling infront of opponents… Starting diverisity hires (Saka) over far better players, Rashford & Stirling if you like so not to be called 'wasist', but both are far better than Saka… but Fodden and Grealish are, and were far better than the other 3.
Meritocracy > Diverisity… Southgate and his racisim of low expectations OUT… Get a REAL MAN… not a political agenda.
Southgate revealing how classless he really is by hanging around when it's obvious England need to move on from him and his brand of safe and playing only the players he likes. Has failed against every half decent team ge crosses paths with. Lost all three of his must win matches and after a penalty fest got him to a final gave a masterclass in inept management of a game against an Italy that could not even qualify for the world cup and Southgates brand of football gave us one shot on target all match ! Ohhh and he also relegated us and in doing so set a record for the most amount of matches without scoring a goal in free play ! And he still won't let England move on with this group of players because he knows not one single prem club would want him at the helm of their team. The FA have given up already on winning the next euro because Southgate couldn't win at bingo let alone a football tournament..
Manchester United fans suffered for this exact same thing under Ole Gunnar Solksjaer. Its mad in the dunya
England and Indonesia football didn't win any trophies. Their players and coaches were bad.
I don’t like this decision
They began the tournament on their knees and finished on their knees.
No sympathy for these virtue signaling pricks.
What's Nicol on about?!? Scotland would've been having parties for weeks if they ever managed to get to a World Cup quarter final. When we get knocked out in the quarters, he says it's failure, but he and his countrymen would KILL to see Scotland even compete in a major tournament, let alone progess to the latter stages. A Scotsman should keep his mouth shut about World Cups!!!
Can't escape the feeling that ten years down the road, England fans will be contemplating current results and thinking "I miss those semis and finals Southgate put us in."
Thanks for speaking sense, Ale Moreno! Kudos.
The problem now is the pressure will be too much I think. This level of pressure likely will make them falter
Gareth is the best thing to happen to the England squad for decades. The fact that so many sports commentators are now ready to throw him to the wolves is ridiculous. He can only do so much! The players still have to go out there and kick the ball in all the right places!
I think if better coach is there it should replace Gareth Southgate. England need to win the world cup and next euros .
Stevie is spot on here!
He has to go
Far too many media comments about how well England did in Qatar. They were lucky as usual with an easy qualifying group Stage and a not too difficult opponent in Senegal, no disrespect intended. But as soon as they come up against a top team the result as always the same. So with the talented pool of players available it was no great achievement to go out in the round of the last 8. At least a portion of the blame must lie with the coach.
Mr Nicol is absolutely right for a change.
Great news, if you like turgid football and winning nothing.
Good Gareth is staying on maybe he should reconsider who he chooses as captain? Mason was fouled he should have taken the penalty. Psychology babes?
Ha ha great being irish i love it watching them lose
This is why england with southgate will win nothing the fans seem to enjoy losing ha ha
STONE COLD LOSER! 🤦♂
Its time to move on from GARETH SOUTHGATE!!!!HE NEEDS TO GO AND GO NOW NOW. HE IS USELESS COACH!!!!FOR GARETH SOUTHGATE ITS AN EASY STRESS FREE JOB!!!!!THIS DUDE SHOULD GO NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW HE IS A ONE TRICK PONY!!!!!!!
Steve – talking sense – but tell this England fan something I don't already know! Three chances for me is one too many.
Would still p7ss all over Scotland, though.. perhaps… 😚
England do what they nearly always do: perform fine for the first rounds, out at the 1/4 finals. Southgate is doing no worse than those before him yet is held to account because he is "supposed" to "win something" with a bunch of players that are overrated by their own countrymen.
Thx Southgate. France is in good hands now.
He has "talent" within the Island but soon they cross the chanel they become average .
Brilliant more crappy football from a clueless manager
Southgate I think is a good but not great manager. Feels like he's taken the team as far as his knowledge and expertise can. He seems to lack a certain guile or ruthless edge needed in high stake matches against strong teams.
We should not forget this was not even France's best side with all their injuries and in two years, teams like Germany, Portugal, Holland, Italy and of course France will all be keen to make amends for previous poor showings or ready to win with mature squads.
Southgate seems scared to make big calls. Is he able to sub Kane during a match in which he isn't playing well? Why did he not try Maddison at all even though he's one of England's more creative scorers? Putting Sterling despite his distractions from home etc.
These are the fine margins that top international managers need to get right to actually win.
