Get him in to make cresswell think twice before pulling an attacker down by his collar again as last defender after getting burned down the line 😂
I disagree that we can't upgrade for £12m. Cresswell is easily upgraded for that now. It may be they plan to bring in the lad from Burnley for a smaller fee and Emerson as the guy who should provide immediate competition. But I'd rather we split the difference and get a player who is already better, with age on their side.
I think you are hitting the nail on the head with Moyes priorities. It seems he's unable to get the ideal players, but compared to January we have even less squad to work with. So he's working on players that will help with rotation and fill missing spots (perhaps very well) with a view to another period of investment to shore up 2 or 3 more trouble areas. As others have mentioned, we're paying the price for years of Sully specials touted to him by agents who usually end up jettisoned for peanuts, and buying older players on massive deals. Had we invested half this summers work every year for the last 4, we'd be an infinitely better side, perhaps with the Europa League trophy in the cabinet.
I feel Moyes looks quite dejected with how this window has gone. He clearly has only managed to secure 1 of his primary targets and he looks unhappy about it ..I can see why, I don´t think we´ve particularly improved the first team that much, yes we have got more competition in the Striker position but he definitely wasn´t Moyes´s first choice….. I think we´re filling out the depth of the squad yes but not the first 11….. What new signing walks into the team? It´s hard to point to anyone specific to say ¨Oh yes he definitely starts¨….I´m really worried for us this season, I fear it could be where we come crashing back down to earth if we´re not careful!!
I'd prefer Sosa, but Cresswell is 32, so Palmieri would cover one left-back slot for 4-5 years and we get in a younger one next season.
Emerson and Vanaken have a whiff of Craig Dawson about them. Not as players, but as a transfer. A player that seems to have been around along time, could on the surface be a bit underwhelming, but could nevertheless be go on to be a coup. On Cresswell, I think the amount of games he played last year lead to his poor performances. I actually think Cresswell has looked more himself at the start of this season.
Emerson is a very poor signing. He can’t defend !! Good at going forward, that’s about it. His age Aswell. Why could he buy A YOUNGER LB ffs. Vanaken aswell, too old!! Same sort of player as soucek too slow! And we’re apparently wanting Payet back what a joke
Im not to sure about Emerson think he needs a good run of games to change a few opinions but Vanaken looks a Real handful think hes going to scare the shit of defenders and what ive seen of Cornet he looks Quality COYI ⚒⚒

would be kinda underwhelmed by Emerson to be honest, hasnt really impressed when ive seen him previously…. would much rather, well would absolutely love it if we signed Borna Sosa …. fantastic left back who would be amazing for us….. as for Vanaken? seriously no thanks…. we lack creativity , Vanaken is just a carbon copy of Soucek who plays in a more advanced role …. would be really disappointed if we signed Vanaken ….. should be going all out to get Conor Gallagher even if just on loan
Italy Euro Final starter and winner Emerson is a L/B massive Cresswell upgrade and so he will play in place of final season/ Contract ending Cresswell imho! Btw the window net spend budget is £150 million according to those claiming to be in the know Gonzo?
To me, I came into this window expecting a ST, CM and LB – if the 3 are Scamacca, Vanaken and Emerson, I’m only impressed with 1/3 (not that recruitment should be based on impressing me!) Not to say that the other 2 won’t prove me wrong, but still underwhelming imo

Anybody else think West Ham have had a good transfer window? Aguerd, Kehrer, Cornet, Downes, Scammacca are all quality players, skilful, experienced, and quick. if they can get Emerson – an attacking full back if I remember rightly. And Brazilian! – plus a quality upgrade on Soucek, alongside Rice, and Bowen, and Benrahma, and Zouma, Moyes will have built a side capable of some tasty attacking football.
Shame we can`t loan him to see how good he shapes up its not a tiny fee 13 m Aaron Hickey was 14 m I think about 7 m would be ok
Emerson isnt good enough, look at his stats hes 29 and played under 200 games

Think Emerson will do ok/well for us. Kehrer wasn’t a regular starter at PSG and showed promising moments on Thursday and Emerson gives us competition and more strength at left back with an experienced player which we desperately need
Teams were actively targeting cresswell last season and it cost us points . Can't understand why they have left it so late to get position sorted, now it seems we are scraping around the bottom of the barrel now and still need a central midfielder cutting it fine now but there have been some really good signings c.o.y.i ⚒️

Having a system, a policy even a philosophy or whatever is good and serves you well. BUT, it’s important you don’t become a slave to it, then it stops working for you and you start working for it. Just like it’s ok to sometimes change tactics if the match isn’t going your way it’s also ok to buy players who are not perfect but can do the job we need right now. Both Emerson and Vanakan improve the squad and I’d argue the team, get them in 👍
I think you are right geo we need to get the Brugge guy and Emerson at £10-12m each. Next year we need to buy 4 players upgrade left back and right back, center mid, and striker, boom top 4

I just want to see West Ham formation right with big teams. They are doing constructive move and very positive. Probably after many years, we are looking them very serious in transfer window. I am confident of getting their PL first point tomorrow.
