In all truth and glory, Messi deserved it in 2021. He won his first ever international trophy when everyone in the world was saying that that Argentina would never survive the Copa America. Messi brought the award home after 26 fking years. He carried Barcelona on his back both in 2019 and 2021. He was tackling and snatching the ball like a defender, passing like a midfielder, assisting like a winger and goal scoring like a striker. Because of him Barcelona managed to go through the season and the moment he left, Barcelona didn’t even qualify for the UCL and played Euro cup for the first time in decades.
