Aymeric Laporte (fr. Aymeric Laporte; May 27, 1994, Agen, France) – French and Spanish footballer, defender of the Manchester City club. Played over 50 matches for the youth teams of France of different ages.

He is the second Frenchman to play for Athletic after Bixant Lizarazu. For three days he was the most expensive defender in the world (until Virgil van Dijk moved to Liverpool), and for another six months he was the most expensive player in the history of Manchester City (before Riyad Marez).

After a successful season, he returned to Athletic, where he started playing for the second team. In parallel, Marcelo Bielsa included him in the main squad’s application. On November 28, 2012, Emerick made his debut for the Basques in the Europa League match against Ironi (2: 0). Laporte made his league debut on December 9, 2012, in a match against Celta, and a little later signed a new contract with the club until 2015. On January 30, 2018 Laporte moved to English Manchester City, signing a five-year contract. In the new club he got number 14. Manchester City spent 57 million pounds sterling, a record for the club, on the acquisition of the footballer. Laporte has become the most valuable player in Manchester City history and the most valuable defender in the world. He played his debut match against West Bromwich Albion (3: 0). In the 2017/18 season he played only 13 matches, and in the 2018/19 season he became the main player of City, playing 51 matches and scoring 5 goals.
