De Bruyne’s Perfect Etihad Farewell | Man City 3-1 Bournemouth

Kevin De Bruyne’s Etihad farewell ended in perfect style as Manchester City beat Bournemouth 3-1 to boost their Champions League hopes. Omar Marmoush opened the scoring with a sensational 30-yard strike on 14 minutes, before Bernardo Silva made it 2-0 before the break after good work from Ilkay Gundogan.

The second half brought drama, with red cards for both Mateo Kovacic and Bournemouth’s Lewis Cook. De Bruyne, playing his final home game, left the pitch to a standing ovation in the 68th minute, clearly emotional as fans paid tribute to his legendary City career.

His replacement, Nico, capped the night with a superb solo goal in the 89th minute—his first for the club. Daniel Jebbison pulled one back for the visitors deep into stoppage time, but it was too late to alter the outcome.

The win lifted City above Aston Villa, Chelsea, and Newcastle with one match to go. After the final whistle, tributes poured in for De Bruyne, including a surprise video montage and the announcement of a statue to be built in his honor.

An unforgettable night at the Etihad, sealing a vital win and a heartfelt goodbye to one of City’s all-time greats.
