Mikel Arteta says Kai Havertz return to full fitness has been “unbelievable” with the German potentially ready to face Newcastle on Sunday.

-TIMESTAMPS-
00:00 – Intro.
00:09 – Havertz: He looks in great shape.
00:42 – Credit to him: Unbelievable. Credit to him and the medical staff. He’s improved the metrics for a striker. You’ll see the transformation.
01:07 – Injuries: We’ll have to wait to see what they can do.
01:28 – Players mentality: Phenomenal effort. Our last home game to wrap up the champions league. In a way to say thank you to the supporters for their efforts.
02:13 – One more big performance?: Two, not one! We need to be clinical. We know how thin the margins are with them.
02:48 – Important to finish 2nd: the dream of winning the league is gone. We need to finish 2nd to feel the pain.
03:16 – Partey leaving?: I don’t want to talk about specific cases.
03:36 – Overriding feeling of season?: Not yet.
03:48 – Newcastle bogey?: What they’ve done the last couple of years has been remarkable.
04:08 – What do Newcastle do?: They dominate every aspect of the game. They take advantage of a lot of things.
04:40 – Emirates atmosphere: It’s growing and growing. That’s what we want. The journey makes sense when you have that support and love.
05:11 – increased pressure?: Especially an internal one. That demand to be better.
05:53 – Any regrets?: I wouldn’t use that word. You have regrets in your professional life but I can give you my word that we tried everything. It doesn’t undermine the incredible things we’ve done.
06:34 – Credit for you?: It’s not something I’m looking for.
07:11- Saliba 100 games: I think he’s in an amazing trajectory. Not many defenders in the game at his stage have done what he has. Much more to come.
08:16 – Big summer for young stars: Talking to them, it’s the biggest tournament that exists, happy for those two and hopefully they bring it home.
08:52 – Lewis-Skelly not nominated for YPOTY: Now it’s about proving it every month, it’s the most difficult thing in football consistency.
09:38 – Working with Berta: Very good. Someone who’s very driven in his ideas and vision. Very supportive and ready to add value and make us better.
10:25 – Fully aligned on striker: We’ve never been able to fully get it but that’s football. You have to do it slowly, thing by thing.
11:11 – Not aligned on signings?: If that’s happened we can’t explain ourselves.
12:25 – Top six heirarchy gone?: I think so. It’s frightening the way it’s evolving. It’s incredible. Next season even more difficult.
13:06 – Newcastle title contenders?: definitely.
13:33 – Relieved not to have a break?: It’s not a choice but we have to plan.
14:05 – New transfer window: when there’s an opportunity you need to use it for your benefit.
14:21 – Pre preseason: The players are demanding it. Impossible to be on your sunbed for 5/6 weeks.
15:15 – Big summer moves early on: On paper every club and player wants to be in on day one. Reality is it’s either possible or difficult.
15:56 – Achievement to be in the champions league: I don’t know which manager can promise UCL. To get stability you have to be in the competition.
16:30 – Top four like trophy?: I’m not going to fall into that trap.

  1. This time next year rodney smile smile smile lie lie lie bla bla 7 years next year lets see i look forward to it all them light bulbs

  2. What is needed to get you Mikel, and your beloved midfield failure out of this club? Excuses upon excuses. Straight emtpy stinking hot air coming out of your neck. Get out!

  3. Who the f…… is interested in Havertz is back !!!! him and Arteta 's are responsible for us not winning. Mainly because of Arteta's stubborn and arrogant ego…trying to turn a cart horse into a race horse is not possible. I only hope Havertz will be a sub or play in early stages of cup competitions

  4. Don't repeat the mistakes of not buying strikerS because of Havertz and Jesus. They are both NOT good enough to win us things

  5. This manager is a clown we won’t sign a striker we will keep Havertz as our striker that’s why this 🤡 of a manager is praising him up absolutely a joke 🤬🤬🤬🤬

  6. let’s stop there, we need a striker end off sick and tired of ah Havertz is back that’s it it’s solved our problems, no. We desperately need a forward the amount of chances we create is ridiculous and we don’t score ball whipping into the box and nobody is ever there because we literally don’t have a striker to put it away.

  7. Arteta downfall will be putting trust in players who are never been consistent on the entirety of a season and not sign upgrades e.g Havertz, merino, Martenelli, Jesus

  8. Please Arteta dont sign Gyokeres! Instead sign Benjamin Sesco! Sesco will do better in EPL than Gyokeres 🙏 i have seen D revelation. Sesco is stronger and faster! That is whst is suited in EPL

  9. Arsenal still needs a striker for the next season, they can't depend on Kai and Gabriel upfront if they want to go far.
It a good news though for him to be back stronger.

  10. its sad but im losing faith and belief in this guy…bring the fans gyokeres or sesko…stop your stubbornness and bring us class we do not want to see havertz pls we beg you in the name of GOD!

  11. I was hoping for a better season since City were having issues. Liverpool came out of nowhere and were consistent. We were unlucky with injuries. Hopefully, we have learned how to deal with them.

  12. No body cares about an over paid Havertz, Nice guy but please address the the fact we dont have a striker…. Oh and dont forget a back up striker, oh and a decent Winger, Oh and give nwaneri a run in the team, oh and put skelly in the midfield, oh and to many left backs, oh and tiny squad, oh and dont waste all the loan's in the summer, oh and dont over play the same players all the time, oh and try not to loose Dowman because your too slow to birth young players, oh and adrress the hamstring injuries following your chief doctor/physio, oh lots to do…..
