Giroud might be the best improviser in the world. Lost count of the amount of crisp, instinctual touches and plays i've seen him make over the years. If there's even the faintest possibility of creating something with deft placement, he's always trying it. I think that's partially why he has such an incredible highlight reel despite not being someone that overplays the ball or is excessively showoffy. He seems to see those possibilities a lot better than others. Perfect for catching a smart defender like Van Dijk off guard.

Giroud the kind of player that raw stats will never do much justice to. He enables his teammates to play better around him even when he's not scoring. Has a phenomenal first touch, a superb knack for deft short passes, flicks, and link up play, and top notch hold up ability. He can miss sitters sometimes, but will score tough ones out of nowhere.
Not the fastest or the most prolific, but an underrated genius nonetheless.
