Real Madrid were never going to pay his market value and he knew it. It's truly a sad ending. Both Trent and fans could have handled things better. I don't blame the clubs management, you can't force a player to sign and you can't force another club to pay the market value for what they want.

Anyone who says Liverpool fans are a disgrace for booing Trent haven’t got a clue what there talking about. Yeah he’s won everything with us and been here for 20 years. Great well done. But don’t sit there in interviews Litteraly a few seasons ago and multiple others by the way, talking about how you can see yourself playing at Liverpool for the rest of your life and you want to captain the club. But then let Madrid tap you up and then run your contract down to get that big fat signing on bonus and we get nothing. Haven’t said anything all season. doing stupid cryptic celebrations. And then leaves his boyhood club when we’re about to kick on even further, to go to one of our main European rivals. And yes Madrid are a rival of ours. We’re the most successful team in Europe from England. Being from Liverpool and leaving Liverpool to go to another team who could take title away from us, feels like betrayal to Liverpool fans. Liverpool fans look at this club as if we are all one and in it together. And to leave us in the best years of your life to bring success to someone else is betrayal in my eyes.
Those Liverpool fans that booed are a disgrace and embarrassment. Klopp would have been disgusted with the way a brilliant servant of the club has been treated. The same fans that wanted him out are most likely the ones who booed him. He gave those fans some of the best memories they have ever had these fans think he still owes them something?
Trent played outstanding for Liverpool, he scored goals , and even set up goals , for instance the goal against Barcelona. Shame on those who booed

If you're not a Liverpool fan then it's none of your business. Trent hasn't stabbed your club and your fans in the back by purposely running down his contract, dumping your club and going to a disliked rival on a free. A rival that stopped Liverpool winning two Champions Leagues in recent years. That is a treacherous action and players need to be made fully aware of such action. Hopefully it will stop other players doing the same in future.

The problem wasn't him leaving, we Liverpudlians have seen so many great players left and we have no problems with that. Trent's problem was that he was portraying to be someone he isn't. By painting himself as a diehard LFC supporter who was supposed to be living his dream, who are giving hope to young Scousers and who has the best interest of the club in his heart, then turn his backside and leave to Real for free? His touching of our This Is Anfield sign looks even more fictitious now more than ever. Torrest didn't leave for free, Suarez didn't, Coutinho didn't, all of them contributed both on the field and even when they left. Trent on the other hand who already knew he was leaving long long time ago just took the club and its supporters for a ride and we are supposed to love him and be grateful for him lpaying with us and leaving the club with nothing? Even if he has all the right to leave for free, I bet most of us will swallow the bitter pill better if he weas man enough to announce it much earlier and leave with dignity. The Chinese has a proverb, 'Don't complain about thirst if you are gonna eat the salted fish'. He himself thinks of only himself and the Liverpool supporters who booed are just telling him what they felt. Personally I won't boo as singing about Conor and Stevie just felt better and it sends the same message.

Nobody ever gets to leave Liverpool with their character and dignity in tact. They always go out of their way to destroy their own on the way out the door. That's why Gerrard was intimidated into staying. They would have done the same to Salah, and Van Dyke. Trent should feel vindicated.

John Toshack arguably one of the titans of Liverpool, Macca, Owen, Anelka, the icon Fernando Morientes, Xabi Alonso who returns as the new manager, Rafa Benitez, Arbeloa, Dudek, Nuri Sahin, Fabinho, Nùñez and currently Caroline Wier. Trent will also get an opportunity to play in the inaugural FIFA Club World Cup. I’m sure more players in the future will play for both iconic clubs.
I don't like to hear our fans booing any Liverpool player. I find it highly embarrassing. In my opinion it would have been better to say nothing and keep quiet. Booing a player or players does nothing positive and will never push the team onwards. It's also something us reds regularly give Everton fans stick about.

Trent's actions for the past 18-24 months as a vice captain of Liverpool Football Club have been nothing short of a disgrace. To run your contract down, keep everyone in the dark and then speak to another club behind our back is a proper shithouse move. However, when you are a Scouser born and bred the reaction is amplified and people now think he's a "rat" which is the worst thing you can be in Liverpool.
He will move on and win trophies, we will move on and win trophies, but in years to come when he retires from the game it's such a shame that he will be just another Liverpool player, not the legend he could have been.

Real fans know why Trent got booed ! He literally lied and stood back while the owners were hated on by the fans because they were led to believe they were doing nothing to get Trent a new contract.
The actual facts now coming out is that for TWO years Trent and his family bullshited them and when they finally realized he was not going to sign a contract FSG were told that Trent would not be sold and was willing to be removed from the first team but he was running his contract down no matter what.
That is how Trent repaid the City of his birth! The club that made him ! And the fans that loved him !
