  1. Either Steff or Ethan can be no.1 club performance might be the determinant. Criticism of Steffen is over the top, he was just as important to winning the game as Horvath.

  2. Steffen, needs to be a starter. Yes he gets the training but once you are in a game it’s totally different. Horvath used his on the field experience, Horvath won the game for USA. This is one step ahead of Steffen.

  3. We have some really good goalkeepers that’s for sure. Where steffen might have the edge is playing out of the back though. Pep is for sure drilling that in to him.. it’s an integral way of man city’s system

  4. Zack Stevenson gona be talking trash to the superstars n still on Air in catching the ball. Men , puma, Nike n new balance need to sign a shoe Air contract with his name on the show just for him alone. He deserve it..

  5. Ethan Horvath is now a free agent. If his agent cannot find him a team, then it's time to find new representation. To come in cold and make the saves that he made singlehandedly saved the game for the USA. Ethan showed he deserves to be a number one on a team in Europe and competition is good for any position to push the other to do their best. Steffen is still number one for now, but if Horvath can get consistent game time next season, I wouldn't put it past him for Berhaulter to give him a look.

  6. Mexico is one of the toughest opponents for this upcoming gold cup , Horvath did amazing . I’m not sure if Steffen would make those saves that Horvath made. Now after the gold cup, we will see who the keeper should be

  7. Honestly Steffen has looked shaky in almost every game I have seen to be honest. He doesn’t play consistent games with city and that’s an issue.

  8. Competition is good. Horvath played great. BUT we should really back Steffen until he gives reason not to. Back your keeper!!

  9. Don’t get me wrong Horvath saved us last night but don’t forget Steffen had a clutch save against Lozano to keep it 1-1. There should be a competition but I still think Steffen the starter. All respect it Horvath tho

  10. I think Turner and Horvath should be the ones competing for the #1 spot, not Steffen. It's not fair that Steffen sits on the bench for City but is automatically chosen to start in big games even though Turner has proven to be arguably the best keeper in MLS. Horvath was impressive yesterday and he'll go to a really good team.

  11. The #1 GK should be playing consistently and a starter at club. Right now that’s neither of them, but Horvath has a better shot of landing at a club to be the starter. Steffen won’t supplant Ederson at City.
I think after that final Horvath is the new number ☝🏽

  12. Im sorry i dont know the names of the goalkeepers that played against Mexico in the final but they where both great specially the keeper that sub the injured goalkeeper my respects for the sub….i go for mexico all the way but congrats to u.s.a

  13. One penalty save doesn't make you an automatic starter lol. Sure there should be competition, im sure there is. It's not like we get to watch practice and see what they do day to day. This is so click baity.

  14. Zach Steffen is a good goal keeper, but honestly was not impressed with him in this Nations League. His distribution was poor and he seemed a little too comfortable waiting to pass the ball out when attackers were rushing him. Almost led to some giveaways, and certainly led to him not being able to distribute as intended. Let's see how Horvath can do when he gets to a better club and is starting consistently, but I think he has more than made his case to challenge for starting goalkeeper for us!

  15. There is no need to compete, each goalkeeper has different talent and specialty and they can be called to the field accordingly.

  16. Horvath deserves a shout but he’s not a clear cut starter. Steffen is still very good. But these recent performances by horvath should give him a chance to compete for the starting position. He earned a chance. Tbh I think horvath and Steffen are pretty even and both good

  17. Germany has multiple top GKs, its healthy to have competition on a club and country level alike. It keeps pressure on the player in the position and ultimately makes the team as a whole remain competitive.

  18. Huuuuge Horvath fan – This kid is unlucky that Club Brugge brought their national hero Simon Mignolet to start over him. Horvath was starting, getting crucial European minutes, participating in Champions League games, and was on his way to being USA #1. He was a huge part of their success while he was starting at Brugge.
Zack Steffan is great – love that he came from MLS and now plays as a back up in the PL. But I'm not sure he's earned the #1 for the US. I think the difference between the two is not talent or wit but that Greg Berhalter was Steffans coach at Columbus Crew.
I think we will learn that Steffan is built for the Cold Cup and CONCACAF qualifiers against the gritty CONCACAF teams and Horvath is the man for the European matches.
    Nice save Ethan!

  19. Been there, as a player, as a coach. The fact is, some players thrive off competition with teammates… But most do not perform well when they feel their "job" is on the line. With hard work and dedication there has to be a sense of security and trust in your abilities as an athlete. At the GK position, you have to know you are the #1. Otherwise, every ball that gets past you becomes another seed of doubt that maybe the "other guy" should be in goal, and not you. Even Horvath going in as a sub was able to say to himself, "I'm the best we've got right now, I'm the last line of defense, I'm the one who has to make the stop".

  20. Mexico fans arrested in connection with Saturday’s game were: Pablo Ibarra Fuentes, 30, Isaac Ramirez, 21, Nicholas Sellers, 32, Marilu Carrizosa, 46, and Baltazar Ramirez Rodriguez, 28. PERMANENTLY BAN THESE "PEOPLE" FOR LIFE FROM ALL FIBA EVENTS. @/threeyearbanonattendenceforl3homegames
