The FA have confirmed they are looking into an incident during Arsenal’s 3-2 victory over Liverpool when the Arsenal defender made a complaint over something he heard on the pitch. Jordan Henderson and Gabriel have both presented their side of the story after a bust-up during Arsenal’s victory over Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium.

LFC have a problem with racism. There, I’ve said it. Firmino made a racist comment (silly little black Brazillian) a few years ago and that was hushed up. Makes sense that Mane didn’t want to play for those Scouse hounds.

A total misunderstanding is what occurs here. First of all, it must be said Jordan Henderson is no racist, he takes his captaincy of Liverpool very seriously and knows his responsibility of representing all creeds and colours of Liverpool. The club itself knows how important this responsibility is and Trust Henderson to carry it out with respect and dignity. Now to the incident, this are two men geared to win for their teams. A penalty is given to Arsenal, Henderson states it isn't and accuses Arsenal of influencing the referee. Gabriel fighting for his own team, tells Henderson his side. Henderson looking at Gabriel states to Gabriel and this is the kicker "you can tell by your face it's not a pen". In England that means that even if your viewpoint is one of confirmation, one's face is showing that the person does not believe what they are saying. A sort of body language tick, this purely subjective and probably a throwaway line from Henderson. However, Gabriel takes this to mean his face is brown and that entails that Henderson was referring to this colour. Which is not the case and not the in the context of what Henderson was referring to. But Gabriel is so upset, that he starts to claim racism, as this a very serious accusation, everyone starts to have a very serious look on their faces. Not because they think Henderson has said it or they are accusing Henderson but because of the hurt Gabriel is showing. If someone cries "racism" no one in their right mind would start laughing would they. The FA will get these in front of a panel and to explain what they saw, heard and said. I'm sure once that happens, Henderson wil be vindicated.
He has championed many causes in football and out of it, all in his own time and is a great credit to his armband. It is also one of the many reasons he is picked for England as his leadership skills are unrivalled in the England camp.
Racism does exist in football and in life generally but attacking an innocent man is not the way to fight it and eradicate it.
I hope this misunderstanding is cleared up, in right way. As a final point, for Gabriel to have suffered this, it must be horrible and I'm sure the conclusion of the investigation will bring piece of mind to him.

Everyone saying that the reactions of Firmino, Thiago, and Xhaka?? (I didn't know they spoke Portuguese in Switzerland) are proof he said something are conveniently ignoring that their reactions were only after Gabriel said something to them, probably relaying what he thought he heard, and they were just taken aback that Hendo of all people would be accused of saying something like that. That's what it looked like to me.
