This is not true…. Vitinha himself literally denied that this ever happened (see link to his twitter post in my comment below)
Also, I’m pretty sure I remember an interview from several years ago where Messi compared Vitinha to Iniesta (a pretty huge compliment).

Vitinha is that good it’s SCARY! If people don’t see it.. they don’t know football! He could go anywhere and he will influence his teammates into becoming a better team.
