  1. Mark and Stevie both said it right. We need someone different, with a different mentality and to challenge the players to be how good we all know that squad can be.

  2. When all the non English people are elated at him staying in the job, that tells you everything that you need to know. They recognize that with a tactically literate manager, this squad of players would be a serious threat.

See you all in 18 months when we're discussing another glorious failure at yet another tournament.

  3. What's a joke, getting a lecture from a Scotsman about international football! Southgate sorted out a big mess when he got there. Nobody rates him as a tactician. He gets another crack at the Euro's then it's buy, buy Gareth, win or lose. Meanwhile, I don't think we will be taking lectures from the Scottish lads. Physician heal thyself!

  4. How is this possible? We can discuss a lot about his team choice, his tactics and so many other things. But there's one thing you cannot discuss; his choice of three defensive midfielders in a 4-3-3 formation Henderson, Rice, Bellingham). Argentina have just proven that you need to have a playmaker with Messi. How many other lessons do we need. I'm totally disgusted. How can we win anything with U21 tactics?

  5. This concept of progress is funny, When you are the better team at the 2018 WC and the Euros and you lose because the team takes a step back and bottles it, that's the last straw, you don't get a pat on the back for inching closer and closer every tournament to what they should have already done, Do you see the talent they have, England should be Euro champions but they dropped the ball, there's no progress lmaoo

  6. Have you not noticed what Southgate does ( you may have.I am not questioning your intelligence)?
If there's a clamour by the fans and the media for a particular footballer who Southgate does not rate, he selects them but does not play them.
Now the media are frightened about a foreign manager because they are weary about alternative motives.
If England had Deschamps as their manager they would have progressed further in the tournament.
Even the FA and Football League did not have confidence in the national team, since they allowed Championship games to resume the same weekend that England played France.
When Deschamps steps down, he will get a Champions League club. While Southgate will end up in the Championship.
Southgate is a social worker or some kind of life coach. He is not a football manager.

  7. I remember how Ole was let to stay longer than he should have been because he had a pleasant personality and qualified for the odd semis/finals😂

You're winning nothing with this manager, that's GUARANTEED

  8. the england squad has achieved some half decent results in 2 world cups and a euro despite southgate NOT because of him
our abject failure in the past makes this look like success but is isn't – success means winning
southgate's decisions have thwarted the squad from winning something,
take off foden and bring on sterling, leave grealish on the bench until the very last couple of minutes and don't give madison a chance – utterly braindead
keep playing your favourites and losing vital matches
and keep taking the £100,000 a week gareth and never mind failure after failure – what does it take for you and the fa to realise that you are out of your depth
can you imagine france not starting with greizeman or argentina with messi, grealish is our best creative player – just to inform you gareth you win matches by scoring more than your opponents not by having a happy, happy squad where everybody is nice to each other
let's not be adventurous instead let's put on our slippers and make a mug of cocoa and worry about the opposition instead of having the opposition worry about us
    play it safe and cautious
we have the best squad of players in decades but we also have plodding and cautious and a tactically naive southgate to negate that talent
as a club manger southgate won nothing and never will, i doubt if he would be offered any job in the premiership
just how did he ever get the england job in the first place or rather why….. one obvious conclusion
it's pretty obvious that winning is NOT a priority for the fa
