Juventus: A Team of Mercenaries? | The Giuntoli Experiment is Failing

Is Juventus turning into a soulless collection of overpaid mercenaries? Under Cristiano Giuntoli’s leadership, the club was supposed to rebuild its identity — smarter transfers, a renewed philosophy, and a return to the values that once made Juve dominant. Instead, we’re seeing the exact opposite.

Giuntoli has handed massive wages to players like Douglas Luiz, Dusan Vlahovic, Nico Gonzalez, and Teun Koopmeiners — but what are we getting in return? Flat performances, no hunger, no sense of purpose. These aren’t players fighting for the shirt. They’re playing not for glory, but for direct deposits.

The club’s spine feels hollow. Juventus once stood for discipline, grit, and sacrifice. Now? It’s becoming a playground for players who view Turin as a stepping stone — or worse, a cash-out.

Has Giuntoli misread the DNA of this club? Is he building a squad based on spreadsheets and resale value, instead of character and commitment?

This video takes a deep dive into how Juventus’ recent squad building strategy is tearing apart the club’s soul — and why the “New Project” might already be failing before it even begins.

Drop your thoughts below — is this the end of Juventus as we knew it?

  1. There are no hearts in business, football is all business today and therefore the mercenaries. The same goes for clubs, they treat players as an investment while the fans demand blind loyalty.

  2. This is it Hajj and it’s been this way for years now you can change the manager sporting director etc it’s the character of the players at our disposal locked into long huge contracts

  3. I been saying this on other podcasts all season as I only recently discovered your channel. The problem is we gutted a squad with a good young Italian base for foreigners who have no loyalty to Juventus. They are only here either as a stepping stone or a payday.

This isn’t 20 years ago when Serie A was the top league and very guy around the globe aimed to play in Serie A. These players today outside of Italy all dream of playing for a EPL squad, Barca or Real or even PSG. The young Italians still dream of playing for Serie A and that’s why they are the only ones who shoe passion in wearing our badge even if they didn’t grow up
a Juventino. Thurham for the obvious reason is the only exception.

  4. Bro initially , player’s attitude was good. If we were down , they would fight back ex: juve inter 4-4 and many other matches! I don’t know what happened!! 180 degree change! I think Motta played a significant role in that change

  5. Bro, are you trying to protect Giontoli!? It is because of the weak management.
How all the other teams motivate their players, not all teams bring tittles to their players, but they still fight, look at Napoli, Roma, Nottingham F, …
Where is F. Giontoli during games.
Where do you try to protect him, does he pay to er?

  6. Well said..
