Tottenham lost their 18th Premier League of the Season last night against Nottingham Forest and after the game an interview was posted of Cristian Romero at Tottenhams training ground. Romero said: “We’re in the Europa League semi-finals, I want to finish the season on a high” Romero then went on to say: “My focus is always on looking for new places to keep developing. I need to play in Spain to compete in all the major leagues.

Cristian Romero could leave the club to play for La Liga sides Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid?

Should he leave?

5:00 – Why Tottenham should sell Cristian Romero!

Tottenham Hotspur have not been quite as active in the transfer window this summer – only signing Archie Gray from Leeds United and Yang Min-hyuk from Gangwon FC, Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth and Wilson Odobert from Burnley and Antonin Kinsky (Antonín Kinský) from Slavia Prague and Kevin Danso from RC Lens and Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich – but over the last few years under Ange Postecoglou Spurs have been building a top youth side.

With the help of Daniel Levy, Scott Munn, Johan Lange and Fabio Paratici Spurs have lowered the average age of the squad to 25.

The Premier League is heating up with Arsenal, Aston Villa, Brentford, Brighton and Hove Albion, Bournemouth, Burnley, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Everton, Fulham, Liverpool, Luton Town, Manchester City, Manchester United, Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest, Sheffield United, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Wolves aka Wolverhampton Wanderers, Ipswich Town, Southampton and Leicester City.

The former Celtic, Yokohama F. Marinos, Brisbane Roar and Melbourne Victory coach Ange Postecoglou and his Tottenham squad include Guglielmo Vicario, Pedro Porro, Cristian Romero, Destiny Udogie, Emerson Royal, Yves Bissouma, Pierre-Emile Hojberg, Dejan Kulusevski, Bryan Gil, Brennan Johnson, Son Heung-Min (손흥민) Richarlison, Pape Matar Sarr, Jamie Donley, Alfie Dorrington, Ashley Phillips, Oliver Skipp, Rodrigo Bentancur, Sergio Reguilon, Djed Spence, Ryan Sessegnon, Micky van de Ven, Timo Werner, Radu Dragusin, James Maddison and Dane Scarlett, Manor Solomon, Alejo Veliz, Giovani Lo Celso, Ben Davies, Fraser Forster, Brandon Austin, Alfie Whiteman, Ivan Perisic, Eric Dier, Japhet Tanganga, Tanguy Ndombele, Joe Rodon, Lucas Bergvall, Mikey Moore, Archie Gray, Yang Min-hyuk, Wilson Odobert, Dominic Solanke, Luka Vuskovic, Mathys Tel and Antonin Kinsky (Antonín Kinský)

  1. I'll only say thanks to him and he did his job only if we win Europe League and he will fight in every remaining games. Once that achieved, sell him wherever he wants to go

  2. whos even gonna pay that much for him when he is playing like that. He should make up his mind. A player is never bigger than a club. I have a bad feeling that he will be those type of player that tries to get a move away, but is decides to run his contract down.

  3. I think Manchester United supporter Jim White of TalkSport will do all in his power to try and ensure that Spurs don't win the Europa League, as it would leave the Mail and Talksport, not to mention Sky Sports, extremely embarrassed that their darlings in the North West won't have European football next season. This story is an old rehashed interview, it didn't happen last night, it didn't happen over the weekend. Romero may or may not go in the summer, but this is pure muck raking by members of the media.

  4. Any player that openly wants a move away, my take an employee wanting to leave their job, let them go asap, it’s the best outcome for the company, and the employee.

  5. Romero at his best can be world class but he is too inconsistent and his decision making and temper has not helped him in his time at Spurs and has made him inconsistent. He has been so poor this season, that he will not be missed. I would say VDV and Danso would be a solid centre back pairing. With Danso from what I have seen he looks solid and does nothing rash. We will need another CB next season.

  6. I've been very disappointed with Romero. I find his attitude disruptive and not a team player…he's just not a leader and I'd be happy for him to go. He's made his feelings very clear. The problem is that Atletico won't be able to afford him and I don't think Real want him and I can see this drag on and on over the summer.

  7. As long as he helps us win the Europa league,I have no grudges to him leaving, just as long as we find someone who wants to play for us and not getting themselves sent off or diving into reckless challenges.

  8. I really don't rate him that highly, hes inconsistent, as long as we get decent money for him and it's invested back into a class defender or 2 , danso has had a decent start for far less money

  9. This kinda makes you appreciate Son HM staying all these years. All our best players want to leave at some point but Son really shows incredible loyalty.

  10. He’s a good player but not that strong on crosses and set pieces, makes silly mistakes and loses his head.
Overall Danso may be better for us.
