    West Ham United have reportedly informed their Mexican midfielder Edson Alvarez that he can leave the club this summer as the club look to undergo a rebuild during the transfer window. Graham Potter’s side have been underwhelming since he took over and Geo discusses why this is good news and why he hopes Tomas Soucek, Guido Rodriguez, Carlos Soler and also James Ward-Prowse all depart the club too.

      Thank you for tuning in and I stand by everything I said in this video, my mind is completely made up – a bit of confirmation bias as it is the stance I had for the last 12 months but wanted to give them a chance under Potter and be willing to change my mind but I haven't.

      A rebuild of the magnitude we appear to require is, in my opinion, impossible to carry out next summer. Just cannot have a turn over of that degree in anything less than three transfer windows during which time we will be racing against the clock in regards to the very real possibility of relegation.

      Which will cone first? A successful root and branch overhaul of the playing squad OR relegation. I know which one my money is on………..HELLO CHAMPIONSHIP.

      PS The evidence continues to stack up that clearly shows that our club RUINS players. We simply cannot handle big name players. Hard working journey man players is about our limit which is why we will not amount to more than a consistently mid table team at best.

      imo Alvarez is our best midfielder! I understand selling him but will certainly be sad to see him go, Get rid of all the rest though, I agree (bar Potts and Irving) 👍

      Declan is irreplaceable- no point even trying. But we can start by selling the entire MF and giving Potter a free hand. Sadly Alvarez has proved difficult to manage. Kudus has already gone. As for Potter, can the drama-addicts shut up? He is not a bad coach. He just inherited a bad side. The Czech boys have been an example to the rest: goodbye, good luck…and everlasting thanks.

      Agree geo all sold clean sweep for midfield. Potts yes on the bench at least . Irving behave his shit watch his games get him gone asp for a few million. Potter not sure still if his the right fix at all. Cheapskate sullivan can look at better like coaches than Potter for sure like Frank or silva at Fulham. Got lucky with amorin overated as also a few other coaches that have had a one off season . Jwp ffs get rid Potter otherwise I'm done . What does anyone see in him is deluded .

      WEST HAM IS THE PLACE TALENT COMES TO DIE. Ridiculous that you would sell your best midfielder and keep the like of Ward-Prowes. Alvarez puts in a shift EVERY TIME. If he goes to Spurs or anywhere else…he will thrive.

      I know swap deals rarely happen but if Monaco want Alvarez I'd love Lamine Camara in return 😅. Soungoutou Magassa ain't bad either.

      I was halfway through the video and there was an earthquake (only magnitude 4.5-5 ish, and I'm 40km from epicentre). Left it running to sit in the doorway and coming back to watch the second half now, getting that watch time up!

      Been saying this for weeks, that are midfield is weak and has no legs to it , I would be glad see them all sold , Potts and earthy brought back for next season and 4 new midfielders to come in, yes soucek will always be legend at the club , but he will be 30 soon and if we can make a little profit off him it will be a win win , he will get his final big payday and we will come out with a profit

      We already have far too many players that should have already been sold or released. Now we are at the stage of a complete overhaul after spending a ridiculous amount of money. Keeping players just for keeping numbers is a mugs game. I'd much rather us just use hungry youth players who are willing to play for the team and the shirt. I'd also go as far to say that most fans here would have more players on the out list than the stay list if given a choice.

      Who are we going to replace Alves with we know that the board will just use our youth if you think we are getting any midfield players you are living in cookcoo world we should keep him he is a good player

      We can start again but its all about the direction we are going in and who is in charge of transfers. We need to fix the big problem, the management and board need to have the same vision. We where told move to the Olympic stadium have a world class team with blablablba. I've not seen it yet.

      Potter doesn't seem to believe in defensive midfielders, dropped Souček and Álvarez for no reason.
      We have been playing no defensive mids last few games, double pivot of soler and jwp 💀 2 physically weak cms who can't track back. That's why we have no balance in midfield and get overrun.

      All sensible stuff but surely whether Paqueta stays or goes is the elephant in the room……we can't sell everyone in midfield and almost certainly won't…..as usual it will depend on who can bring in the dosh for some replacements and critically that they can be offloaded quickly enough so we have time to get the replacements that will be needed…….
